New Credit Card arrangements

January 12th, 2010

downloadmusic.ie has changed the way we process Credit Card payments for tracks.

Previously, users could enter credit card details on the site. In an effort to reduce costs, we have decided to switch to PayPal to process credit card payments.

Selling MP3s via PayPal required careful consideration, as payments need to be confirmed before we can allow the user to download the track.

We have implemented the necessary systems to facilitate this, but it does require that a user has, or signs up for, a PayPal account before they can make a payment. It is not possible for us to allow users process a credit card payment on PayPal without them having an account.

Credit Cards form only about 5% of all sales on downloadmusic.ie, so we do not anticipate that this will have a significant impact on our service.
